Training re-opens

After 18 months of weekly Zoom meetings, we welcomed the athletes and volunteers back to Southport College Sports Hall. It's a bit different with social distancing, sanitising and everyone bringing their own drinks. We thank Sefton CVS for giving us bottles of hand sanitiser.

Athletes get together via Zoom

We are holding weekly Zoom meetings on Sundays for our athletes and volunteers during lockdown as it could be many weeks before training and competitions can start again. Simple exercises are posted on our Facebook page and athletes are encouraged to follow the guidance on fitness and well-being issued by SOGB.

Special Olympics GB Puts All Activities On Hold For Foreseeable Future

Sunday Training Suspended

Due to the coronavirus we have decided to suspend all Sunday training until after Easter. The boccia tournament, due to take place on 26th April, has also been postponed. This decision was made as we have a responsibility for the welfare of all our athletes and volunteers.

Selection for 2021 Summer Games

Sunday Coaching Sessions

On Thursday 9th August six of our athletes will travel to Stirling for four days competition in the Special Olympics Anniversary Games. Southport College Sports Hall is then closed for three weeks for student registration.
