Thanks to the generous support of Co-op members in Southport we received £4,877.81 from the Co-op Local Community Fund. We joined in the Celebration Day at the Fylde Road store to publicise our activities.

The SO Southern Region Table Tennis were held in Bournemouth yesterday. Dan, competing in Division 2, won another gold medal to add to his collection.
Medal Success at National Summer Games
Ten local athletes from Southport & Formby Special Athletes were part of a team representing the North West at the 2017 National Special Olympics Summer Games in Sheffield. 2600 athletes with intellectual disabilities competed at the event. National Games Bath 2013
The 2013 National Special Olympics Summer Games took place at the University of Bath. Eleven of our athletes won a total of 3 gold , 2 silver and 1 bronze medals.
Regional Boccia Competition
Last Sunday we hosted a North West Region Special Olympics boccia event at Southport College Sports Hall. The athletes had a great time and most will now go on to represent the North West at the National Special Olympics Summer Games which will be held in Sheffield in August.
North West Region Football
Three of our footballers took part in a Special Olympics Regional 7 a side football event today. Together with athletes from Widnes and Ellesmere Port they have been selected to represent the North West at the National Summer Games in August.
More Medals from 4 Nations Para Badminton
Mark is really chuffed to win a gold and silver medal for England. He was competing at the 4 Nations Para Badminton event in Glasgow at the weekend.
